The newest additon to the wildland Strike Team was placed into service on March 15th, 2010. The Kawasaki Mule was donated by Army Reserve Sergeant Chris Connelly, who is also a Webbs MIlls Firefighter. Sgt. Connelly is being deployed to active duty to Afghanistan and before his departure donated the Mule to the Strike Team to be utilized for wildland fire/rescue. The Mule (1874) has been equipped with brooms, rakes, shovels, and 30 gallons of water. This will serve as another valuable tool to help combat wildland fires that are not accessible with larger apparatus and it will help to transport firefighters more effectively. The Mule is available for any department requesting mutual aid and assistance. On behalf of the Webbs Mills Vol. Fire Dept. we would like to thank Sgt. Chris Connelly for his donation and wish him a safe deployment and return home form Afghanistan.
