A 24-year-old Pine City man was killed early Saturday when he was thrown from an all-terrain vehicle and struck a road sign.
Killed in the 12:40 a.m. accident on Kinner Hill Road in Southport was Joshua L. Long.
He was a passenger on the ATV being operated by Steven C. Stickler, 59, of Pine City, according to a Chemung County Sheriff's Office press release.
The press release did not say if Long was wearing a helmet or if he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is continuing and the Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the county District Attorney's Office and the state police Accident Reconstruction Unit from Canandaigua.
Deputies were assisted by the Webbs Mills Fire Department and Erway Ambulance.
