The Fourth of July started out very quite but as soon as one mutual aid call came in crews became tied up on another call. At 2202 hrs WMFD crews were dispatched to Caton for a Possible Evacuation because of a MVA that ruptured a Natural Gas Pipeline. One engine and manpower was requested to the scene. 1821 responded with 5 and 1872 responded with 3. Chiefs 1801, 1802, and 1803 also responded. While enroute units swithched to channel 2 to operate with Caton crews. During this time 1801 arrived at the scene of the evacuation with many State Police, Caton FD, and South Corning FD. Caton's Rescue then advised 1821 to establish a LZ for Guthrie 1 on the Kelly Rd. for a EMS call that Caton and Rural/Metro were also at. 1802, 1803, 1821, and 1872 established the LZ with Guthrie 1 circling above. Crews helped Guthrie, Caton, and Rural/Metro load the patient for transport. Crews cleared the LZ at 2303 hrs. Back at the station two crews were on stand-by for extra manpower if it was needed. 1801 cleared the staging area at 2352 hrs. and all units were back in service at 0000 hrs.
