Chiefs Welcome,
Our Department was organized in 1933 by caring members of the small hamlet of Webbs Mills, located in upstate New York bordering the commonwealth state of Pennsylvania. Over the past 77 years our department has grown in all aspects of response and training. The 60 active members of the Webbs Mills Fire Department are equipped with 6 pieces of apparatus operating from 2 stations and are always at the ready to respond to our neighbors calls for help, providing 24/7 Fire/Rescue and Basic EMS response services. Of our 60 active members 40 are SCBA certified and trained at the Firefighter 1 level or equivalent with Haz-mat FirstResponder/Decontamination. 24 Medical Responders are trained at either the CFR/EMT-D level for both the states of New York and Pennsylvania with many of other members holding certification in CPR/AED. Other areas of specialized training include Vehicle Extrication, Urban-Interface, ARFF Rescue, Farm-Medic, F.A.S.T., and NIMS. The Webbs Mills Fire Department is also very fortunate with bolstering a large force of Junior Firefighters and Auxiliary members to support the needs of our Department in Firefighter rehab and other supportive events.
New members are always Welcome, in either of the Firefighting/EMS or Fire Police or the other capacities such as Auxiliary or Administration/Building Grounds. Ages for membership are as follows 10-12 years of age are cadets and can participate with fundraisers/parades. Junior Firefighters are 12-16 years of age and can participate with junior drills/fundraisers/parades and other functions. Firefighters are 16+ years of age and participate in all aspects of firefighting or EMS services. Drills are conducted twice every Monday 9am-11am and 7pm-9pm and every other Saturday for Juniors from 12-5pm for the convenience of our members. All county and state training classes are easily made accessible by our department and all safety equipment is provided to attend these trainings. With becoming a members of our organization you will not only gain a source of self confidence and satisfaction in a job well done but you will gain an extended family of brothers and sisters who share the common interest in helping in times of someone's need. If any of the information has sparks an interest in possibly becoming a member of our organization please feel free to stop by or station on Mondays or give us a call at (607) 732-1028.
